WE'RE GOING TO DIE HERE, AREN'T WE? collects nine short stories by Eirik Gumeny, author of the Exponential Apocalypse books. Originally published in a variety of journals ranging from Thieves Jargon to Jersey Devil Press, these stories are every bit as insane and hilarious as Gumeny's longer works.
Opening with a doorbell and an existential debate, and ending with an all-out war between cereal-box evangelists and French mimes, this collection is a zany, darkly comic ride through office parks and human hearts.
WE'RE GOING TO DIE HERE, AREN'T WE? includes the acclaimed short "The Astrophysicist" and the Pushcart-nominated story "114."

This is one of those books you have to read for yourself to to truly enjoy. These are stories that define the term bizarro. I read this in one sitting and it's one of those books I will read again because it's not only good but funny as hell. The stories you'll find here are about green glowing bagels, the end of the world, zombies, and two killer clowns, one of which doesn't believe that it's murder if the person in question is a mime. While these strictly fall into the category of bizarro each story is well written and rather short.
I stumbled onto this as a freebie and read it in one afternoon. Yeah, it's short but each story here is solid and even funny. If you have a twisted sense of humor this is the perfect book to make you chucke in inappropriate places. It'd books like these that make me proud to be a fan of bizarro fiction.

We're Going to Die Here Aren't We? edition by Eirik Gumeny Humor Entertainment eBooks Reviews
One of the funniest books I have read in a while. I was entertained from beginning to end. It was strange, witty and clever in a way that I really identified with. My favorites were Doorbell, 114, and Bagel. Other than a couple of short stories in the Tall Tales With Short Cocks series, this was my first read from Gumeny. I will definitely be reading more soon.
I really am going to be removing this from my kindle even at free it is not worth keeping yikes
Way way too much needless cursing. Too violent but hey, the title says it all. It was kind of warped.
I laughed all the way through this brilliantly put together collection of short stories. Could not put it down. If you like dark humor this is the way to go.
I thought it was very funny been reading while I am getting over an illness nice done made me laugh a lot
Gumeny's work has a voice. It may be that of a deranged Bassett hound conspiring with Gumney to steal his neighbor's warm apple pie resting on the sill, but he has a very specific approach to writing. For me, I love it. He is sharp witted. Short declarative statements often saying what people may not even think. Here, his book is short stories. More like mind farts. Quick, sometimes loud, but leaving an afterglow. Mind you, in this context, the mind fart is a good thing. Here is the bottom line. If you like Dead Presidents (the novel and not assassinations), you will love the book. And, if you haven't read any Gumney yet, well this is a fabulous inoculation (um, cr@p, I meant introduction) to him. Think what it would be like if Lewis Carol wrote Alice in Wonderland today but was possessed by Lenny Bruce and was required to use George Carlin's 7 dirty words repeatedly. Enjoy.
Few author can get me laughing as much as Gumeny, and these stories are a riot. I love the wildness, but I particularly love the approach to the absurdity. It’s the best and I’d read anything Gumeny wrote.
